Excellent first visit at Doña Gloria! The burrito I ordered was huge and very flavorful. Chips and salsa weren't complimentary, but the green salsa is so good I think it's worth paying for. Definitely stop by if you want delicious and authentic Mexican food. Doesn't get better than this.
I love coming here for Taco Tuesday $2 tacos. They also have great lunch specials. They don't serve alcohol. Absolutely amazing fish tacos, seasoned perfectly. Great for family dinner night. Takeout is always got and fresh too.
No chips and salsa complimentary at the table which was disappointing. The food was excellent, but I really would have liked some fresh veggies with the mole. The mole was well spiced and delicious. Service was alright. We were the only guests for dinner but at times it was difficult to hear our soft spoken waiter. The vibe is Mexican restaurant.
Been coming here for the last 8 months or so at least once a month, and I'm impressed. The menu is extensive and the food is as authentic as it gets. Hands down the best rice you'll get at any Mexican restaurant in town. The tacos are flavorful and the salsa, especially the green one was a nice touch. I'm not a fan that they have no complimentary chips and salsa ($2.49 for order) or that they don't have a liquor license so there's no margaritas. But the horchata is spectacular and the restaurant is always clean and service is on point. There's a lot of great Mexican food in the city, but I have to say this one is one of my favorite spots. Check em out!
Cute Mexican restaurant. Decorated very nice inside and is very clean. Found the restrooms to be extremely clean as well. When we arrived, we were pretty hungry and we were attended to very quickly. We ordered the cheese queso while we looked over the menu. Something to note is that if you want chips and salsa it's not complementary here. It's $2.49. And I think they charged $1 for a refill of chips because we weren't sure what that was on our bill. I ordered the chicken fajitas. They were absolutely delicious so much flavor on the fajita veggies and meat. It came with a second plate that had rice, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a couple slices of avocado along with three smaller size tortillas. It was very good and I would definitely order it again. My husband ordered the burrito Bandera. It was a nice large burrito and was very good as well. Make note if you want rice and beans with it, you need to tell them with rice and beans and I believe it was $2 more. They did not sell beer here and we did not see anything about margaritas so we're just assuming that they don't have their liquor license. Not a dealbreaker, but it would've just been a nice day to have a beer with our meals. We all really enjoyed our meal. The food was very good. I would highly recommend it.
This place location on South Grand ample street parking. Traditional background music adds to the authentic feel. We love guacamole and it was excellent served with home made chips. We shared chicken fajita. We are tender mouths so it was pretty spicy. But after pushing the peppers aside it was tasty. It is hard to keep chicken breast from getting a little dry. Service was prompt and friendly. On a Monday evening the business was pretty good. Does not serve alcohol. But has some traditional soft drinks. Probably will come back.
Second time here, still excellent! The place is super clean and well kept. Chairs are comfortable, and the tables are unique. They have an extensive menu, so something for everyone. Had to get the Horchata, nice mellow flavor. I got the Happy Chicken, grilled chicken with veggies & comes with rice and beans. The chicken was nice and tender, and the veggies were too. The rice on the side is very flavorful! He got the Quesabirria to start, it was one of the specials of the day. Also got al pastor & pollo gorditas. Comes with rice & beans as well. We were the only ones here, New Years Day and all! The server was attentive and helpful when it came to our order.
Don't expect your typical Mexican restaurant at Dona Gloria's. Each dish came with the unexpected (in a good way). Service was great, attentive, but not hovering. The chips and salsa were great starters with green avocado salsa and the red salsa had a deep flavor. The Chille Rellano had a sauce to die for, but the rellano was pretty ordinary for a Mexican restaurant (not the best or worst). The Cactus taco was seasoned well and was great for vegetarians. The Enchiladas mole was okay, but was a tad too salty and lacked the depth of flavor you'd expect. We also ordered Agua Fresca (cucumber lime drinks) which were refreshing! We'll be back to try some more dishes next time.
I am very happy with my first experience at Dona Gloria and I look forward to my next meal there. I was not familiar with the area, but found the restaurant very easily with plenty of street-side parking available. Upon arrival, we were happily greeted and seated in the booth by the window. The artistry on the walls was fantastic and it really provides the customer with how the family wanted to cascade their history. We were welcomed with chips & salsa - which I may say - had fantastic salsas in both red and green and both options provided a bit of heat, which I was very happy about. For my meal, I had two el pastor tacos along with an el pastor gordita, rice & beans. The flavors of the tacos were fantastic - juicy intentional flavors came through on the meat and the taco shells & gordita shells were well crafted. I knew everything was well made because it did not sit heavy after eating, meaning it was not overloaded with grease & other additives that weigh down meals in other places. It was a great experience & the food was fantastic. I look forward to the next visit.
Doña Gloria just opened last week. The space is beautifully painted and decorated. The service during the lunch rush was quick and friendly. I loved the pastor Burrito Bandera. I loved the red and green sauce and queso on top. The free chips and salsa were a great touch. The salsa was so fresh.
